Lenco™                                                   Electro-Mechanical Trim Tabs 9” Chord 12” Tab Width 14’ – 16’ Boat Length COMPLETE W/DASH CONTROL SWITCH With over twenty-five years of experience in the manufacture, sales & service of hydraulic units, Lenco™ has found constant problems and it became quite evident that there had to be a better method and better equipment to obtain trim control. Knowing the problem, and the limitation of hydraulics from trim purposes, and utilizing their extensive knowledge of power transmission, they concluded that the ball screw was the solution. The ball screw, for hundreds of years and up to the present, is the best known method of converting rotary power to linear movement. It is powerful, precise, accurate, trouble free and very dependable. In fact, most high precision machine tools in major industry rely on the ball screw design. The big difference is electromechanical. There are no pumps, solenoids, hoses or fittings to leak (very common with hydraulically operated systems); thereby eliminating constant service, maintenance, costly repairs, downtime and time consuming and expensive installation. Safety, probably the most important feature of the Lenco™ system. With the power off, the tabs lock in present position. They can’t move! They can’t drift! With hydraulic type units, if you develop a leak, the tabs will drift, requiring constant repositioning. Should you develop a major leak, the tab will move up rapidly and in turn, could create a very dangerous situation, it may even flip the boat over.
